It’s officially Thanksgiving week and I’m sharing the first of 2 looks on what to wear to kick off the holiday festivities. While I love holiday traditions, I especially enjoy Thanksgiving because it’s not how you necessarily celebrate it, but rather with whom. From Friendsgiving to hosting at home or even dining out, as long as you celebrate around the table with delicious food and people you care about, it’s bound to be a wonderful holiday.
This year, I’ll be celebrating over in Paris, probably with a steak and frites and with some incredibly inspiring women! I have always loved a fresh take on moody, Fall florals and the colors on this skirt are attention drawing but also subdued. By pairing it with a neutral, cashmere sweater, I was able to make the look a bit more casual. Perfect for a low key dinner with friends and family.

To ground the look, I added a black belt and black booties. I feel that airy, brighter outfits can always use a black detail to add a necessary edge to the look. Gold hardware in the form of a vintage chain link necklace from Shop Gem Hunter is a personal favorite. While I’ve slowly veered away from gold jewelry as of late, this look beckoned for the warmth of golden hues. I kept the purse in the same color family as my sweater, TJ. Maxx, my friends. Go buy your purses there! Can’t say it enough! And a plum lip to tie in with the flowers on the skirt. I especially love the slit on this skirt, and how a tasteful outfit can be worn both to the office or a holiday celebration. Sexy can still be subtle!
