We’re officially into August, the dog days of summer have arrived and I simply want to run away to a cabin and savor every warm moment. Two years ago we had gone glamping and the simple tasks of starting a fire to make dinner or picking your lunch for that afternoon didn’t allow for much time to think about anything else. Our phones and electronics had somehow found themselves buried deep in our bags. I woke with the sun and read books by candlelight. I’m not going to trade in city life for a pastoral alternative, but it was so refreshing to detach and simplify.

When I saw this gorgeous space, I just about packed my bags. That kitchen, with its olive wood boards, vintage tile and copper pots begs for fresh-cooked dinners gathered around a big farm-house table. Sipping cups of coffee while the morning light shines through the windows. And those bleached pine floors! This lovely home resides in Australia where coincidentally you can book lunches and cooking classes on the farm. Walking out the door… Tamsin and her brood left city life in Sydney in search of a simpler way of life and settled on this lush, green farm in Gippsland. Everything in the house is vintage or handed down and even though the home has all new and upgraded amenities, it still feels welcoming and relaxed. Exactly how a cottage kitchen should. I would love to cook in this space – Australia, I’m coming for you!
