Window Treatment Inspiration

Miscellaneous

Hello lovlies! I’ve been busy, busy over here! Let’s chat window treatments for the guest bedroom, shall we? I was initially debating doing Roman shades and decided against it. After seeing how tall our living room felt after putting our curtains up, I knew we had to achieve the same look in the office. I used this amazing photo as inspiration.

Amazing, right? I just ordered my bamboo blinds from Home Depot for roughly $30.00 a piece and free shipping. I ended up picking the Sedona roman shade because of the warm color of the bamboo and it fortunately came in different sizes by the inch. I needed a 32″ inch width by the general 72″ in length. If you’re window is a but more standardized and you can go by increments of 6 inches (3 feet, 3.5 feet, and so on), then Matchstick Blinds has some great pieces and they are ridiculously affordable!

I ordered the ribbon from Ribbon Retreat and picked the solid grosgrain in 105 Black. I went with the largest size, 2 1/4 inch width, since I would be using it from top to bottom on both sides of the curtains. Including shipping, I only paid $8 for 12 yards! Talk about a steal! I’m planning on hot-gluing it onto the fabric, hemming the cut edges and making a loop hole for the curtain rod. The curtain rod is the Ball Orb Cafe Rod from Target that’s simple enough to not compete with the mixture of textures and colors but still bring everything together.

As far as the curtains are concerned- I’ve read so many different articles and posts. Initially, I was going to use a drop cloth from Home Depot, but just couldn’t get over the color. It was too “canvas-y” and too similar to our sofa bed. I wanted something a bit crisper and lighter. I decided to go with bed sheets. I need roughly 108″ in length, which turns out to be a King size flat sheet. Since our windows are smaller in width, I simply want to frame them and let the light still in. I’m thinking of 3 feet wide for each panel. I’m still on the hunt for the perfect sheet for this project. I’m thinking a trip to Home Goods will do the trick!

Stay tuned for a more in-depth post on how to pull this all together!

Hope you are all having a lovely week. Miss you big time! Xx
