When thinking of what attracts me most to a space, it tends to be the balance and unexpected juxtaposition of styles. This kitchen, with it’s exposed beams and eye-catching chandelier creates a perfect harmony of design styles. It’s slightly industrial, traditional and has a farm-like aesthetic that always feels lived-in and welcoming. I don’t generally think of adding a rug in the kitchen, but this over-sized jute rug seems to fit perfectly in this large space- adding yet another natural element.
A combination of modern appliances with rustic details, make this kitchen the perfect space for entertaining. And all those copper pots. I can imagine a fresh batch of pasta sauce simmering on the stove top, a red being poured in extra-wide, wine glasses and a blazing fire to warm me up on a cold, winter’s night. Not to mention, that chandelier makes a statement without taking away from the rest of the decor. That light fixture with a combination of the added sheep-skin blankets on the modern chairs and an African bowl for fruit or plants is a winning combo in my book. All of these styles against a wall of white, classic cabinetry, subway-tile and a quintessential farm-style sink. Seriously, when can I move in?
