Focus; a concept I can barely hold on to these past couple of months. Yes, I see the irony… Perhaps it’s that the year feels as if it’s on fast forward, headed directly for the holidays. Upcoming trips, end of year responsibilities and deadlines at work, brainstorming new and fresh ideas for a new year and trying to wrap every last detail, nice and neat, tied with a bow before the clock strikes midnight. And yet, to-do lists endlessly grow; I write down items I’ve already done just so I can cross one thing off. A never-ending hustle towards the finish line, only to do-it again the next day. And as a blogger? You never stop working- constantly looking for inspiration, connecting with social media, wheels constantly in motion. I’ve been keeping my head down and work, work, working! I feel like that’s all I do lately; work. But, my hunger is far stronger than my lack of sleep and chronically tired body, so work is what I do.
Occasionally, if we’re so lucky, a distraction pops up simply to remind us to enjoy in the moment. That we all need some down time, even if it’s just for a short 15 hours or an unexpected layover. I think we could all use a bit of a distraction these days… something simple and uncomplicated to allow the mind to wander. I happen to have found a distraction I quite like. Much like this plaid coat… A new addition to my wardrobe and one that I have already worn far too often this season. I, too, happen to like the unexpected colors on a common, Fall pattern. You can find me wrapped up in my new Fall coat trying not to work too hard and unapologetically enjoying in a much-needed distraction…
