Travel Here| Since we are headed to Tangier for a few days this July, I’ve been hunting for chic yet affordable places to stay. I always prefer to stay in a boutique-style hotel or even bed and breakfast. There’s something about that intimate service that you can’t seem to replicate in a large hotel. La Maison de Tanger looks like a top contestant for us- with its hidden gardens, swimming pool and views of the medina. An oasis above the commotion of the city below. I love the greenhouse appeal that the hotel gives off. The hotel blends both tradition with modern amenities and allows the city’s many influences show through the well-decorated rooms. Very charming, indeed!
Wear This| For exploring the medina, I want to be comfortable and yet blend into the surroundings. These Topshop embroidered shorts are the perfect choice of colors, with pink and beige dessert hues. Paired with a jeweled Jcrew tee and a leather cuff. I can’t get enough of these See by Chloe sandals. Comfort and cool. Perfect for exploring! A crossbody strap that will keep your hands free for shopping in the souks and bronzer pads to help you transition from that rough winter!
Thanks Ellie! I have been wanting to go forever. Two days in Tangier is not going to cut it but it will hold me off until I can get over there for a longer trip!
In the thick of planning a trip for a client to Italy, I always get so excited to experience some of my favorite destinations, all over again, through their eyes. It also happens to be one of my favorite destinations for a solo trip; a surrender to the senses, to la bellezza in all its forms. The Italians just do it right. Mentally revisiting some of my favorite spots in this itinerary, including an idyllic stay in Porto Santo Stefano....
One of the more relaxing weekends I’ve had in a long time. A reminder that they shouldn’t be so sporadic and few in between. As I slowly ease into the new year, and in an effort to return to the joy of writing, there’s a new post on welcoming 2024 - how I’m planning on filling my cup this month, what I’m looking forward to and more simply put, a monthly check-in with myself and with all of you. x...
I’ve been holding on to our wedding photos like a secret note in my pocket I just wasn’t ready to share quite yet. I wanted to hold on to the feeling a bit longer, before the moment felt fleeting.
After endless months of planning, weekly budgeting and saving, all the stress, our wedding day was a beautiful coming together of cultures, traditions and worlds. We were showered with love from near and far and we never lost sight of what this day was truly about – celebrating our unexpected love story. A story we will continue to celebrate.
Sharing with you today a small and intimate look at one of the happiest moments of our life together. I really do feel so very lucky to call this man my husband.
Thank you to @nicolettazarifi for capturing our special day on film and to @feelyourfilms for bringing them to life in a video we’ll cherish forever.
I spent the last week back in Chicago after two long years and while I crammed in way too much in 10 short days, I left feeling recharged and at peace...
I got to spend time with my mom and stepdad, even though it`s always too short and too fast; rented my apartment to a lovely couple; saw friends I haven`t seen in years and hit up most of my favorite spots including eating an excessive amount of Chipotle. Chicago weather behaved for us and even put on a fabulous Fall show, my favorite time of year.
And while I know the reasons why I chose to leave Chicago, it doesn`t mean that it`s not still a very important part of my life and of who I am. It seems, sometimes you need to leave home to truly find yourself. I was able to share all these amazing moments, in my (other) city, in our other home, with my husband, family and friends. I know how blessed I am and I never take this life I`ve built for granted.
A small ode to my other city, sweet home Chicago!...
Proud to have been able to pen this piece for @hello_going as @airserbia rolls out their first direct flights between Serbia`s capital city of Belgrade and the "Windy City" - and my hometown of Chicago -after a 30-year hiatus.
While this article is meant to act as a comprehensive guide to flying Air Serbia; it is also a nod to Air Serbia’s long history and authentic culture and cuisine making it an affordable and competitive option when looking to hop the pond....
Finally got around to writing the first - of many - posts on Morocco while taking gardening tips from the beautiful Le Jardin Secret - a lush, green oasis in the heart of the medina in Marrakech. #mangogirls...
I am dying to go to Morocco! And this look is perfect!
