Hello lovelies! No outfit post this week…because I’m working on some exciting new material with a fabulous photographer. I can’t wait to share it with all of you very, very soon! In the meantime, I thought we’d chat a controversial trend that really has the fashion world split down the middle. What do you say?
Harem pants have received a lot of buzz- both positive and negative over the past couple of years. Even staff at Vogue was undecided whether they loved or hated this new trend. Nevertheless, these controversial pants have been referred to as “diapers”. Unless your babe is sporting silky bottoms that cost a mini fortune…well, then diapers they are not. I personally happen to like them- they feel nomadic to me, with a touch of luxury. Like I crossed the Sahara on my camel in them and came to a 5 star oasis to recoup. It’s got my name written all over it.
I get they aren’t for everyone but here’s a few photos that might change your mind…
Gucci
Temperley London– this outfit should be a room!
The harem jumpsuit from Chloe? Yes. LOVE!
Midnight blue and a pop of yellow from Chloe
Ok- these rose gold emtallic pants by Chloe are amazing!
Derek Lam with lamé…
Chic safari style at it’s very best!
Karen Walker adds some fun color to the trend…and those shoes!
So Cavalli…
Etro clad all in orange.
I too, picked up a pair of gold silk harem pants from Armani a while back and absolutely love them. I conveniently purchased them right before my trip to Cairo and wore them for dinner at The Buddha Bar on the Nile. I may or may have not purchased the pants specifically for that trip…
Here’s a #tbt for you all- an old bio shoot sporting my very own pair.
So, what do you all think? Would you wear them or can you just not get past the low hanging crotch?
Xx
