I find myself intentionally dozing off on the sofa these days, curled up in a big blanket, Palmer at my feet and the warm glow of Christmas lights. The shine on my bejeweled stocking and the little gifts that I bought and wrapped myself, sit patiently, waiting to be opened. An unexpected and thoughtful gift sits under my tree, and even though I’ve peeked, I leave it wrapped as a lovely, little reminder. Perhaps decorating the tree in a cozy, red cashmere sweater will be my holiday tradition or better yet, watching movies like A lot like Love or The Holiday on repeat would also be acceptable.
This cozy, red cashmere sweater is one of my very favorite pieces in my closet. I picked it up from a tiny, consignment shop on 1st street in New York earlier this year and it cost less than it’s own dry cleaning. It’s perfectly oversized and it embraces me in a warm and luxurious hug every time. That’s the funny thing… about things. It doesn’t matter how much they cost but rather how they make you feel. Much like the holiday season.
