Every now and again, when I should be sleeping, I get a craving to sit in my bed, surrounded by down comforters and pillows, good tunes and my laptop. A time where I can just get the thoughts from my head onto paper. So, here I am, in bed, way past a normal sleeping hour, oil pulling and writing a post while my face mask sets in. #reallife
Tonight, I chatted with a friend who recently took a big risk; packed up and relocated to another city, It just reminded me how sometimes, you just have to try things out and see where the cards fall. You could say I’m a risk taker. I rather burn my own hands than take someone’s word for it. Because, what’s the fun in that? Despite the broken hearts, sleepless nights, impulsive decisions and the possible regrets, how else would you learn? I truly believe it’s better to make a decision, even a bad one, than to be paralyzed by fear and complacency. With this though, means being able to say, you know, that wasn’t the right move for me. Pick yourself up and move on, girl. Sometimes, mistakes turn out to be the most beautiful of things. Because I too, needed a reminder today to take some risks, so I wanted to put it out there to all of you. What are you waiting for? Mistakes are to be made, lessons to be learned and a life to be lived.
On another note, I just got back from ALT Summit this weekend and had such a spectacular time. Yours truly had the chance to speak on a panel about Bloggers working with Brands and Professionalism in Blogging. It was my first speaking engagement and surprisingly, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I’ll whip up a post soon recapping the Summit and everything I learned and plan to put into motion.
