Good Morning! Did you all enjoy the long holiday weekend? That extra day off couldn’t come at a more perfect time. I won’t lie and tell you that I was super productive yesterday but since the rest of the weekend was non-stop, yesterday seemed like the perfect opportunity to slow down and relax!
I got some great deals over the weekend and picked up a few things for the house. Let’s have a look at some of my new finds, shall we?
Our new burl-wood end table I scored on Craigslist. It was all the way out in Milwaukee, Wisconsin but for the price I just couldn’t pass it up. Thankfully a family friend of ours works up there and was kind enough to pick it up and drag it back home. We swapped goods: burl-wood for a bottle of malbec!
You can see the grain of the wood a bit better here and I love the arches of the legs. The piece is apparantly from the ’70’s and is by Lane Furniture. I especially like that warm hue the burl-wood gives off. It adds a bit of warmth to our otherwise neutral living room.
A little styling going on here- I picked up the faux snakeskin tray from Home Goods for $16.99 and love it on the end table. I also managed to finally use my Hermes box as a pretty little pop of color and that blue faux coral on lucite? Yeah, I picked that up at Salvation Army for pennies. Our remotes finally have a spot and look so much better against snake-skin. Don’t ya think?
How adorable is that candle? I liked the etched glass and the floral notes. For $3.00, you couldn’t beat it. I was definitely #homegoodshappy this weekend, let me tell you.

Mmmhmmmm……This totally happened!
Boom! Two Safavieh x benches made their way home with me. While the color and the fabric is nothing to write home about, the price would make you cry ($40 each) and these bad boys will be upholstered in something fabulous! I have been keeping an eye out for a pair of x benches and I didn’t think I would find the exact ones I wanted at Home Goods. *Victory Dance
We don’t have a coffee table yet so these are being used as a make-shift coffee table/foot rest. I’m saving up for this coffee table from World’s Away. Those pillows are waiting for new covers, I think that might be the next quick fix. I’m also on a hunt for a rug for the space. Really, there’s so much left to do- I’m far from being done but I am so excited about the small progress.
I also picked up these cute pups from an estate sale and just love their Staffordshire-esque style. Plus, how can you say no to polka dots?
And finally, I picked up some paint chips from C2 paints for the dining room. {From left to right} Salty Brine, Inuvik Ice and Variegated. While they are all fabulous colors, I am not sure that any one of them gets me the look I wrote about in this post. What do you all think? If you had to choose one, which would it be?
