Monday Obsession: Green Velvet Sofas

Interiors

Good Morning! Today I’m feeling energized and ready to go. It probably has something to do with me taking off work Friday. Four-day weeks, anyone? If you’re following me on Instagram, you’ll know that I was super productive this weekend. Picking up furniture from the middle of nowhere to painting bookshelves and styling vignettes. I’ll be sharing photos on the blog this week, so don’t you worry!

This Monday’s obsession is all about green velvet sofas! Velvet really adds a dash of luxury to any piece and the green is so regal. Let’s have a look, shall we?

I love all of them- especially this fabulous teal one above! Brass accents pair nicely and don’t be afraid of mixing in some pattern! Since there are so many shades of green you can play around with, it would be easy to adapt to any space. Not ready for an entire sofa? Try infusing this color on a side chair or even an ottoman!

Where can a person find a green velvet sofa? I’m having a hell of a time trying to locate one that looks good (and isn’t some drab beigey-olive color). I’m looking for something bold and striking—an emerald or moss green velvet, that’s relatively comfortable (so no Louis XIV stuff!). It’s easy to find pictures of these items, but nearly impossible to find them for sale!

I wish you would have reached out to me a month ago- we just sold ours! Nevertheless, this color (before it made a comeback) was something you would often see in “vintage” furniture. I found ours at an estate sale but I’m sure that Craigslist would be a great source. If you’re looking for something new, check out Z Gallerie (Pierre sofa) and West elm has a few green velvet options that won’t break the bank. You other option is always to find a sofa you love (preferably used and inexpensive) and get it upholstered. Good luck- would love to hear which direction you went with! Happy Holidays!
