I’m not sure if I prefer the outdoor space or the interior of this home more! The owner of the home wanted the basis of the color palette to be greige, a combination of grey and beige, and from there incorporate pops of color. While the home isn’t filled with too much furniture, each piece is so unique that it adds intrigue throughout. One detail that I found especially interesting, and quite different than the homes of the Midwest, is that each room has tile flooring. While I think of this as immediately being cold, it’s easy to maintain, gives a rustic, lived-in look and is refreshing in the hot summer-months of Spain. And how about that stone-carved sink? Complete with an overflowing bucket of peonies and flowers picked from the garden. The home is modern and yet classic and even rustic at times. It’s a beautiful medley of styles. Each vignette is thoughtful. Take for example the smoked glass lamp that sits atop the antique, wooden table with fresh bougainvillea and Asian pottery. And don’t get me even started on the outdoor space. The perfect hideaway, with a bottomless pool and trees that keep out unwanted guests. An alcove all your own.
