That brass fireplace seems to be a common characteristic in these Swedish homes and I’m utterly jealous. I love the brightness of this apartment and while the style is a bit too feminine for my taste, I enjoy the simplicity of it. That white kitchen and farmhouse sink is the perfect place to cut fresh blooms and put on a boiling pot of tea. Not to mention the dining room- it has beautiful, natural light. Can you just imagine mornings here reading the newspaper over coffee and fresh preserves? The feminine shades of pinks and purples are balanced by the stark black furniture and pops of sky blue. I spy a few ginger jars paired with antiques. While the space is feminine and luxurious it’s also understated.
I can just imagine the story of the woman who lives here. Comfortably settled into her career, demanding at times yet rewarding; spending quiet nights at home with a glass of wine a good book and a bath. On weekends, she wakes early to go to the market and bakes fresh scones to have on hand for guests. She appreciates simplicity, witty prose and fresh bouquets of flowers growing in her yard. While she respects the past, she genuinely enjoys in the moment; often over coffee and good company. A few of her inherited momentos have found a home on her wall, amongst her interest in couture and the warm glow of candles. She hasn’t found love yet but she has a close group of friends which she’s grateful for. Her dog, Coco, is her best companion and she occasionally sneaks her a taste of leftovers. Unsurprisingly, her wardrobe resembles her home- simple, feminine and tastefully timeless.
