This space was inspired by the central train station near this home. With it’s white walls, iron, elongated windows and multiple clocks, the owners wanted to mimic an open, public space with Bauhaus influences. The wooden furniture, and shades of ivory and white make this monochromatic space unexpectedly warm and welcoming. The chandelier in the living room is absolutely breathtaking and its ornate style is a compliment to the otherwise, modern, iron doors and windows. Cow hides and zebra rugs add natural texture and the gallery walls of art add some healthy doses of color to the space. I surprisingly love the wallpaper in the bedroom. And that hand-woven quilt looks like the perfect place to curl up on a sunday morning. The sliding staircase in the living room and the glass bookcase filled with stemware looks like something out of a curiosity shop. I especially love the pile of globes that sits atop. And, well, that vintage, wooden chest of drawers with amber knobs is amazing. But most of all, the windows in the dining room. They seem to open up onto the whole world. Talk about a room with a view!
