A few years back, I shared an apartment that was in an old, converted. I loved the history behind the building and the 20 foot ceilings. Today’s home tour, was also once a Jewish school in New York and was then converted into a single family townhouse. One of the important aspects is to try and keep as much of the history and original structure in the new design. Did you see that brick fireplace and the angled skylight windows? Give me all the natural light, please. I obviously adore the monochromatic palette; the stark, white walls against the dark, ebony-stained wood floors. I wish they had a better photo of that dining room table because I have a feeling I would love it even more. And that caramel-leather chesterfield, in all of it’s worn glory. And my favorite detail of all? The wood, lattice doors that cover the panty. Perfection.
