Good Morning! How was everyone’s weekend? I managed to come down with something and was feeling pretty crummy so I lounged around at home. But don’t you just love when you still have to be an adult even when you’re feeling absolutely miserable? Groceries? Check. Dry Cleaning? Check. Clean House? Check. I also mustered up enough energy to get dressed and even throw on a red lip to visit my mama for mother’s day! I spoiled her with some fun gifts and we had dinner, talked and enjoyed some much needed girls’ time. For all of you mamas out there, I bow down. I’m so blown away by the juggling act that you all manage to do with grace and poise and…wine, I’m guessing? Seriously though, I have some really amazing friends in my life who make me hope I can be half the moms they are. So, I hope you all treated yourself to something nice and had someone spoil you, because one day is simply not. enough.
By the way, I was lucky enough to be chosen to do a review of some of the newest beauty products for Spring and let me tell you. It made my weekend! Palmer and I cuddled up in bed while I spritzed on this, dabbed on that and slathered on something else. I must have looked like a complete crazy person with my overdone face, overpowering mélange of perfumes and sipping on my Umcka Cold and Sinus. Glamorous, I tell you. But it was the highlight of being stuck at home! Expect to see that review in the next few weeks- there are some awesome products that I’m pretty excited to share with you all!
This outfit is so simple…hello, all black! But it’s comfortable, it’s chic and with the jewelry, it gives off a bit of an Olsen twin vibe. You feeling it? There was a time I went through a phase that I only wore tunics. I spotted this oversize one from Asos and decided that I could always use one more. The material is lightweight enough that I can tuck it in to a pair of pants or a skirt and it would look like a flowy shirt. Versatile. But for this outfit and these pink wall vibes, I opted to let it free in all of its billowy and wind-blown tunic glory and it made for the perfect outfit. I paired it with my Banana Republic slim fit ankle pants that I completely swear by and a pair of black mules I picked up at a Nordstrom’s sale. If you would have asked me ten years ago, would I have ever possibly worn a pair of mules that looked like the ones in my mom’s shoe closet…I would have laughed and laughed and laughed. No way. But now? I love these styles that are running their course and repeating, altered and improved for newer generations. Not to mention, they do remind me of my mom in the best way possible. Not to worry, she already shared her obligatory “I told you so”. And not to mention, chunk heels never fail. I feel like I could run a marathon in chunky heels. They are the shoe of the modern-day woman who is constantly on the go! My croc-embossed bucket bag was a no-brainer with this outfit and black shades because, all black all the time.
Is there anything from your mom’s closet that you would never have considered before but are now pining to get your hands on?
