Is there anything better than the smell of freshly baked banana bread? It instantly fills your entire home, making it cozy and welcoming. Since we celebrated Easter this weekend, I wanted to bring a little something to my mom and stepdad. I had found this recipe a while back and have made it a few times, experimenting with different fruits, nuts and flours. This time, I ended up using whole wheat flour and added extra blueberries. It made the perfect not-too-sweet treat with coffee after our big lunch and doubled as a delicious breakfast in the mornings!
This version of the bread is more dense because of the whole wheat flour, but the cream cheese makes it extra moist. Did I mention there was cream cheese? It will take your banana bread to a whole other level! The recipe makes for two smaller loaves, or in my case one huge loaf! There are so many options to substitute certain ingredients, so you can make this as healthy or as decadent as you like! How perfect would these be in mini loaves as party favors? Wrapped in parchment paper and ribbon! Whether you’re giving a hostess gift or enjoying it yourself, you’ll love the recipe!

- 3/4 c. butter, softened
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened

- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 cups mashed bananas (about 4 medium bananas)
