When you spend practically half of the year wrapped up in heavy coats, you tend to form a slight obsession with outwear. Point proven, since I first wrote this post, I bought yet another coat. But honestly, if you’ve been to Chicago, then you know there are so many different levels of “cold”. I always find outwear an opportunity to make a statement. And this coat falls nothing short of doing so. I instantly fell in love with it. I paired it with my new-to-me Derek Lam booties that I’ve been lusting after since they made their debut last season. I’ve been hunting for these pointy faves forever and finally found a brand new pair on ebay for a song! Over the years I’ve realized I don’t want to follow trends. I want to invest in pieces that are timeless, unique and above all make me feel good. So what if my husband thinks I look like a yeti in this coat. I feel like I just walked off Milan fashion week. There is nothing hotter than self-confidence and if you own the outfit you’re wearing, then it will always look good on! I may not always buy brands you’ve heard of or be on top of the latest trend, but I can promise you that I will always make an effort to bring you unique style, whether it’s for your closet or your home! So tell me, what’s the most unique piece you have hanging in your closet? Would love to know!
