A History Lesson

Good Morning! I bought this dress recently from Nordstroms and love the scholarly feel to it. As a nod to this dress, Jennifer and I headed to the Chicago History museum, naturally! The base of the dress is black and is contrasted with a bright coral/red and if you don’t look closely, you’ll miss the unexpected pattern of dancing ballerinas. The silhouette gives the juvenile pattern a more sophisticated look and I absolutely adore the collar and bowtie! The dress is a juxtaposition in style, color and print… and yet it all somehow works together.

I paired the dress with opaque black stockings and Prada booties that I bought years ago and have become a staple in my closet. A red lip and a black faux-croc purse I picked up while in London from LK Bennett, bring this entire look together. This look is perfect to transition from day to night. A simple change in makeup and you’re ready for social hour after that never-ending law class.
