A Hearth of Gold

Interiors

This weekend we will be putting our first offer, EVER, on a condo we fell in love with. Petar, like most men, doesn’t get too excited about things, but this place literally blew him away. Obviously nothing is secured but we are so excited to be taking this next step together, regardless of the outcome. We know that we will find ourselves a beautiful place to call home.

With that being said, I always get exited about everything and I like to consider myself  “proactive”, to say the least. After seeing the amazing condo and imagining all the glorious things we can do to put our mark on it, I couldn’t help but start brainstorming. First and foremost with the fireplace…

The building was built in 1904 *gasp and has an actual wood burning fireplace. The tiles were carefully selected and imported  from Europe by the owner, in order to radiate heat and warmth. A true hearth! However beautiful the story, the tiles…not so much. It’s a bit library-ish to me and I think with the perfect tile, the whole room can be brightened. I can imagine cozy winter nights with hot cocoa and some good ‘ole jazz music…

I started to do some research and came across Country Floors and was pelasantly surprised with their selection. There were so many different styles, it would be difficult to make a choice when the time comes. These were favorite choices thus far…

And the creativity continues with these fabulous photos of gorgeous mantels…

It’s a small enough area where  you can afford to splurge a bit more on the tile and not break the bank. What are your thoughts? Does anyone have any inspiring fireplace mantels?

Happy Weekend!
