Good Morning! I have been on the hunt for a living room rug for quite some time, and after the Adileh rug from Rugsusa.com sold out, I put things on pause and hoped that it would return soon. With no such avail, I started hunting again. I wish I could tell you that I knew exactly what I was looking for…but I didn’t. Last night I hopped onto Ebay and scoped out some beautiful Persian-style rugs. I love how they add a touch of color and a whole lotta global to a space.
Usually, rugs 8×11 and larger would leave me eating ramen for the next couple of months, but I was pleasantly surprised with the selection (and the prices) I found on Ebay. Without further ado…. I introduce to you, our new rug!
I really love the colors and how it’s not so blood red, but more muted with touches of peach and pink. I feel like it will soften the space up and add some color to our neutral living room. This beauty was $400 shipped from Switzerland and I call that a win for this little lady! It won’t however, deliver until the first (or second) week of December, so I will have to practice my patience on this one. This should be easy…
Here’s how it would look in the space… These are the pieces I currently have in the space (sans the IKEA hack)
Progress is slow, but we’re getting there! As you can see, we still need quite a few pieces to bring the room together. I’m on the hunt for two additional comfy chairs. I found one chair on CL that shares the same lines as our sofa and with an upholstery job (it currently has some sort of peachy boucle), could be right at home in the living room. For the price (I’m talking $30, over here), I might have to pick it up this week and decide on it later! It’s too good to pass up! What do you all think? Yay or nay?
I’m thinking that these pillows need to make it on our sofa!! The top two are from Arianna Belle but I might save some $$$ and pull a DIY on these. I love throwing in some animal print into the mix and the simple black and white tie the elements of the room together. The pink and red ikat are from Etsy and throw a splash of color from the rug to the sofa. This one I’m not sold on yet, but I do like how they all look together.
I’m hoping that when the rug arrives, that will be the finishing touch (or at least one of them) to wrapping up the living room! I’m giving myself a deadline- let’s see if I can stick to it. I would love to hear your thoughts on the progress so far and any suggestions you might have. I’m all ears!
Xx
