Good Morning dahlings! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. This weekend for me was all about catching up with friends I hadn’t seen in a while and laying low with the hubs. It was relaxing and much-needed. I also tried my first ever Pure Barre class and will definitely share my experience with all of you this week. It kicked my ass-plain and simple. Nothing like a friendly reminder how very out of shape you are.
We’re back to the daily grind of Monday’s and despite the summer temps, I have Fall on my mind. While I love our condo, I am bummed that there’s no fireplace. The building was built in 1924 and they had to have had fireplaces to stay warm. I am convinced that we have them and they’ve been patched up. Nevertheless, I’ve seen many faux fireplaces and mantels that actually look great in a space. Nothing beats the real thing but I am willing to be creative.
Here are some fabulous faux mantels that will give the real ones a run for their money… {Sorry in advance for all the Christmas-y decorated mantels- since the Holidays aren’t too far off, these images keep popping up in my search}
Add a an unexpected color to bring attention to the focal point of the room. The painted on flames are pretty darn cute too!
Love how vases full of pink and red flowers adorn the front of this faux mantel.
Stacked birchwood logs add a natural touch to this neutral palette.
The colors and the faux bois painted pink is pretty amazing
Love the faux marble look of this mantel and how it serves for extra storage for shoes and mags. So very Carrie Bradshaw.
Here’s that fake painted wood again…
How stunning are these moody hues? Pretty amazing styling happening!
Extra book storage- these colors!
The Hunted Interior
The same mantel by The Hunted Interior without the Holiday decor. She also offers a tutorial on how to achieve the stacked log effect!
Besides the obvious reason of why I love fireplaces, I also like the way they create a focal point in the room and a cozy, intimate feeling. What are your thoughts on going faux?

What great timing – I just hung up a faux mantel shelf with a large mirror over it yesterday! I love it already and can’t wait to change our the decor with the seasons!
