It’s officially time to get back to reality. I’m headed back home after a week in San Jose {1 hour south of San Francisco} visiting Petar and enjoying the California sunshine! It wasn’t all play- I squeezed in meetings, vintage hunting {just you wait to see!}, blogging and networking. California weather is a walk in the park compared to Chicago but NoCal temps can get a bit chilly, especially in the mornings and evenings. We headed to the Japanese Gardens in San Francisco for a picnic and the day couldn’t have been more perfect!

I have about four different winter coats since there are different levels of cold in Chicago. Lately, I’ve been wanting to incorporate a bit more color in my wardrobe and stumbled across this powder blue number on Asos and had to have it. Immediately. These powder blues are my jam for spring. I can’t get enough. And paired with pastel pinks, apricot and even edgy black, it’s the new neutral. For a casual look, I paired my new coat with dark wash jeans, a simple tee and my new scarf I picked up at Zara for….$7! It was on sale and that color! I added a strong black shoe for grounding the outfit and adding a bit of an edgy element. Not to mention, you can’t go wrong with flats and these go with every outfit. These shoes are Tahari and were a TJ Maxx find for $49.

I went on a little jewelry splurge since it does refresh even clothes you’ve had forever. You know this girl can’t get enough gold jewelry! One of my favorite places to get jewelry is at Fox’s. They always have trendy pieces {for half the price} and unique pieces I won’t be able to find everywhere else. I literally haven’t taken off that gold wrap ring. I like how raw the ring looks, a bit edgy and still makes a statement without being in your face. The earrings are as dainty as can be and while they are meant to be worn long and down, I turned them horizontal for a bit of a different look. This jade-like necklace has the prettiest grains and colors- it reminds of the ocean. I like that it’s a bit more chunky and can even be worn with a simple tee!
