Design Inspiration / Casamidy

Interiors

Good morning! Tomorrow I have the day off work so that we can meet with painters, go over stains for the hardwood and get things rolling before we move in next Saturday. There is so much to do, but I couldn’t be more excited to get started. This is the fun stuff, after all. Next week, I’ll be sharing photos of the place (finally, I know!) and taking you lovelies on this adventure with me!

Speaking of inspiration….

Inspiration and Casamidy tend to go hand-in-hand. While they are only available to the trade, their breathtaking pieces still serve as design inspiration for the rest of us. A girl can dream, right? Casamidy came to be in 1998 when co-founders, Jorge Almada and Anne-Marie Midy, wanted to create modern designs using traditional artisan manufacturing methods (that’s a mouthful). And when the two came together, it was a beautiful thing.

Here are some of my favorite (drool-worthy) pieces!

Nomad Luxuries a photo collage of the casamidy collection; an intricate and ornate array of pieces with unique geometric structures.

{All their pieces can be found on the Casamidy website or to see more of my favorites, check out my Pinterest board!}

I love the pops of color and the industrial “hacienda” feel that the pieces give off. They are all created by hand in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico by local artisans. I imagine some beautiful tiled floors and lots of industrial windows for sunlight to go along with this furniture. The scent of agua de naranja on linens and a homemade feast on the table with lots of lime…

What do you think of the pieces? Are you swooning like I am?
