{Whimsical tea time…found this on a Japanese website and was smitten!}
Since today is the first calendar day of Spring, I was going to scout out some fresh and light recipe for all of us. However; it is a whopping 24 degrees high in Chicago today, so I thought I would hold on to one more cozy-inspired recipe. At least until the weather cooperates.
I love grabbing a soy chai tea latte from Starbucks on mornings when I’m running late. Sweet and full of flavor, it’s a perfect alternative for coffee. So when I found this recipe to make at home, I was thrilled. I love seeing the blend of spices that create this bold flavor and now I can make it exactly the way I like it. I tend to use soy milk but am thinking of trying out almond one of these days.

The great thing about tea is that it can evoke a variety of moods. You can have a cozy and simple evening at home or indulge in high tea like this one at Chanel’s PreFall 2012 Show.
{They mean business- this is some serious tea time y’all}
Or perhaps you’re in the mood for something more dark and moody. Photos via here and here}
While we’re being proper, let’s talk table settings for tea. And yes, there is such a thing.
Call up a few girlfriends or surprise your mom with a posh tea party you two can enjoy together for Mother’s Day like this Kate Spade inspired tea party. I absolutely love the spade and heart cut-out sandwiches.
{These tea bag cookies paired with your favorite tea act as the perfect hostess gift. This tea print is pretty fabulous too!
{A rained-out tea party… absolutely stunning}
Are you steeping a cup as we speak? These photos make such a simple act so much fun. I love the spin and creativity that tea parties carry! Have you ever thrown a tea party? Do you find it juvenile or just the right amount of fun?
