First Friday Outfit to Room Series: November

Interiors

first friday

Good morning! October flew by especially fast since I was gone the second part of the month and I can’t believe it’s already November. Thanksgiving is right around the corner and I absolutely love this Holiday. It’s simple: food and family. Can’t get better than that!  Since it’s the First Friday of the month, you know what that means! Outfit to Room Series with NoMad Luxuries and DiSabella Design!

I came across Temperley London’s pre-fall collection for 2013 and I was absolutely smitten. Neutrals with gold accents and warm leathers, cable-knit sweaters and hats! This particular look was one of my favorites…

This is the perfect outfit for November and would be lovely to wear to a Thanksgiving dinner. A gold jacquard skirt with an over-sized cable knit sweater, cinched at the waist with a buttery leather belt and oh, those gloves! Like little pralines!

This immediately inspired me for a warm and cozy den. A room where the dark colors beckon you in, jazz hums in the background and cocktail hour never ends.

This room was so much fun to create. I tend to be drawn to brighter spaces, but there’s something about moody and dark colors that have always intrigued me. I could see men spending endless hours here and the gold touches make it just as inviting for the ladies to join for a nightcap!

The brown leather Chesterfield sofa was the jumping off point for this space and was inspired by the leather gloves from the outfit. Cream cable knit pillows from Wayfair were the perfect cozy companion to the sofa. Not to mention that they mimic the style of the sweater. To keep that den-like feel, I wanted to add more natural elements like the cow hide patch rug. I like how the neutral rug contrasts against the Chesterfield and the gold specks add a touch of luxury.

The bar cart from Crate and Barrel was perfect for the space, matching the color of the jacquard skirt. I foresee some serious cocktails being poured here and where better than in the simple gold-rimmed glasses from West Elm. The rustic chandelier is so light and airy compared to the rest of the furniture, that it allows your eyes to rest when you look up. I would add a dimmer to these lights so that the room is always cozy and inviting. I have been wanting to use the Icelandic Poppy fabric for quite some time and while the colors are a bit unexpected, I love the continuation of the woodsy theme and the feminine touch to this otherwise masculine room.

The horse triptych I stumbled upon and adore how grand and simple it is. Oversized and rustic, it brings the room to a whole new level. I wanted something completely unobtrusive for the coffee table and decided to go with Lucite and brass details. It doesn’t take away from the rest of the room and plays off the gold specks of the rug. Finally, faux taxidermy with gold antlers, just because!
