Moody Hallway Inspiration

Interiors

hallway moodsSorry for the radio silence, friends! I’ve been working on so many good things that I can’t wait to share with all of you. Not to mention, I’ve been trying to soak up all the great info from ALT Summit last week! That’s no excuse of course, so this morning I’m sharing some inspiration for a new project I’m tackling: our hallway. We have a fairly long and dark hallway that leads to our bedrooms and is in desperate need of a facelift. It’s been left alone since we moved in, but after spotting a few amazing pieces, I immediately had a design in mind!

Design Concept: I absolutely fell in love with these black and white photographs from Sayaka Maruyama. Engineer prints, anyone? This was the starting off point for the whole design and I decided to go with the moody vibe. The glass orb pendants were one of the first pieces I acquired for the hallway and I can’t wait to install them this weekend. The rug adds the palest of pinks to the dark palette and brightens up the floor. At the end of the hallway, this snakeskin end table would act as storage and as a focal point for the eyes. I already have the Venetian mirror and think this would be a perfect place to hang it! Add a smoky glass tray with a luxurious candle and some faux flowers to set the mood. Essentially, I want to create a moody and sensual space to transport you to the back of the apartment while adding some nomadic touches. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Stay tuned to see how it all turns out. I’l be documenting the journey on the blog and on Instagram, too!
