Is there anything more quintessential Summer than a July 4th cookout? I always loved the idea of celebrating this nation with good food, time with family and friends and some good ‘ol tunes. It’s what Summer and the true Americana spirit is all about, after all. One day I hope to have a backyard to do just the same, but in the meantime, I’m pulling my essentials for a July 4th cookout!

Fresh sunflowers are a must and make sure to string some lights so that your party can carry on into the evening hours. Write names on chalkboard mason jars so noone loses their drink and stay hydrated with citrus-infused water. A bocce ball set and mini sparklers add for some extra fun while the cook stays grease free with a red-ticking apron. Don’t over-think it too much. July 4th is supposed to be simple and good fun. So enjoy and Happy 4th!
