First Friday Outfit to Room Series: October

Interiors

first friday

Good Morning and Happy Friday! Say hello to October- the leaves are changing, the air has turned crisp and you’re wearing a cozy sweater carrying around your pumpkin spice lattes.  It’s the First Friday of the month and NoMad Luxuries and DiSabella Design are bringing our Outfit to Room Series!

I ripped this photo out of a magazine a few years back and I still love the timlessness of the outfit. It was shot in Paris and the whole look screams understated elegance that only the Parisian women know how to pull off…

You could find me living in this outift (seriously, I would wear a version of this everyday if I could)- the neutral color palette with shades of indigo and camel couldn’t be more perfect for the Fall. Not to mention, the casual look of denim paired with cozy cashmere and leather details. Masculine yet perfectly coiffed.

Taking all of these warm elements and simple design as inspiration, I knew I wanted to create a living space that was perfect for cuddling, crackling fires and escaping into a delicious novel.

To bring this look home with you…

Navy Blue Sectional
Beige Arm Chair
Striped Curtains
Overdyed Rug
Mongolian Pillow
Art by Felice Varini
Gilded coffee table
Storage basket
Cashmere Cableknit Throw
 Orange Lamp

Can I just recreate this entire room in our condo, stat? I really wanted to focus on comfort without sacrificing the design of the room. The navy sectional is from West Elm and it looks like it could swallow you whole (I mean that in the best way possible). Throw on a mongolian fur pillow in winter white and a cashmere throw and you’ll probably trade the sofa for your bed!

I went with the Adileh rug in natural (which I’m waiting for it to come back in stock for my own living room) from Rugsusa.com because of it’s vintage-esque beauty…and the great price. The overdyed effect gave me the impression of strolling the streets of Paris and the faded facade of the buildings. I always have to throw in a bit of gilt and this Worlds Away coffee table is perfect. The fact that it is glass but has a touch of gold allows for it not to take away from the rest of the room but still add a bit of opulence of its own.

The curtains are Ikea and are not only a great deal but are streamlined and simple (can’t go wrong with stripes). They tie in the indigo with the rest of the space, too! That camel colored armchair is from One Kings Lane and has enough character to stand on it’s own. Pair the weather basket next to it for extra storage. Finally, probably my favorite element of the room is the art by Felice Varini called Projections. Bright orange geometric prints are applied over photographs of the city of light and the colors and concept couldn’t be more perfect for this space. To tie in the art with the rest of the room, I brought in a pop of additional orange in the lamp for a final touch.
