DIY: Decadent Pumpkin Decor

Miscellaneous

The enjoyment of Holiday decorating is that there are so many different directions you can go with it. Whenever I look at inspiration I find myself drawn to monochromatic, symmetric and understated decor. I’m sure that might change (or not) when kids come into the picture, but until then, I’m going for simple and sophisticated.

This year has been a lot of firsts for Petar and I, including the Holidays.  I wanted to make our home festive and bring a bit of the American tradition that might be unfamiliar to my husband otherwise. Our new shelf, here, deserved some holiday decor. I bought 10 tiny pumpkins, all with their stems still on, and gave them a glamorous face lift. It’s amazing what a bit of spray paint can do.

I absolutely loved the matte black I saw in this photo…

And even though I’m pro all black, I thought it might be nice to have some metallic hues to warm up the space. Not to mention, I’m sure the gold pumpkins will look extra glamorous in the soft glow of the fireplace.

Take a peak at how it all turned out….

If you’re open to trying something completely different…take a risk and go with an unexpected pop of color like these pumpkins:
