While I was in Salt Lake City for ALT Summit a few weeks back, I did some research on the best shops to visit. Decades kept popping up and it just so happened to be conveniently located near my hotel. Fate, I tell ya. I would be lying if I told you I only went there once…The shop was full of everything from vintage hats and jewelry to 80’s tees and everything in between. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular but when I came across the LBD rack, yes, they had one, and stumbled on this little number, I knew I had to have it. Did I mention, that it was only $28? Who said good style has to always be expensive. Pshhh.

When I shop for vintage, I don’t want something that screams a different era. I strive to find something timeless, that makes you question the decade. This dress, honestly, reminded me of a Valentino dress I saw years ago. I loved it then, I love it now. Timeless, you see? The pleated bottom, the delicate bow and the buttons all the way up the back are so classic! The one down side? The dress requires some help getting into..I had to ask the concierge to button me up… #truestory But you do what you have to for good style. I added my new-to-me vintage earrings to add a little sparkle and my favorite element? The tiny, rhinestone heart brooch I pinned to the bow. Yes, it’s vintage and yes, it will be available at ShopNoMadLuxuries! Why?  Cuz we have to share the love. A vintage, red snakeskin clutch and a black pump so high that I can keep my head in the clouds.

And if not in the clouds, then at NoMI restaurant at the Park Hyatt Chicago. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city. Whether I’m eating sushi and sipping on a cocktail on their terrace in the summer or hiding away from the cold and looking over busy Michigan Ave, it’s always my go-to. There’s such an understated elegance about NoMI, not to mention, it’s the perfect way to celebrate V-day or any other date-night for that matter. Sheep’s milk cheesecake featuring earl gray poached blood orange and grapefruit, citrus biscotti crust and a blood orange gel. I’ve already said too much. My mouth is watering just thinking about that delicious combination. NoMI is an escape from the bustling streets below, the honking and loud, city noises. It sits and watches from above, with a cocktail in hand. You’ll be able to find me this weekend hiding at the marble bar, nibbling on small bites and enjoying the view.

I hope you all have a fabulous Valentine’s Day- make sure to show yourself some love! Xx
