Chunky Turtleneck

Style

When I travel, I try to pack a few staples that I know I can mix and match with several outfits. But how about traveling in winter…to colder destinations? I have trouble finding a point where I’m warm and can still look chic. I want to be able to layer my pieces, stay warm and look effortless while doing so. Too much to ask? Then I found this turtleneck, on major sale at Banana Republic. It’s slightly longer in the back and has a slit on the sides that gives it the look of a tunic.

Skinny jeans, my chunky-knit turtleneck and these new ankle boots have become my winter uniform. I recently found these Ralph Lauren ankle boots at TJ Maxx and absolutely love the gold horse bit on the back. You know this girl can’t pass up on gold! Since it was chilly in Belgrade, I made sure to wear one of my favorite coats I purchased a few years back. This herringbone piece from Via Spiga has a collar that zips all the way up! I can practically hide in there. Really.

Since this look is so simple, I added silver hammered jewelry and red nails for some color. Oh, and I found this fun and colorful wall to stand in front of. That counts, right? Belgrade is filled with urban murals and graffiti and it was so fun playing tourist with Petar in his hometown. So, when in doubt…where skinny jeans and an over-sized, black top and you’ll look like you were just exploring the streets of Europe! I’ll call this look Belgrade Street Chic.
