Pineapple Express

Interiors

Yesterday, I made a quick run (my only daily outing) to Urban Remix: a furniture consignment store in the South Loop. We’re in desperate need of a white lacquered dresser. I have a few things in mind, but am scoping out options before I decide to commit. Nevertheless, a dresser I did not find…BUT I did come across a pair of adorable pineapple coat hangers.

Side Note: * I think my crush on pineapple’s started when Petar and I went away for the weekend to Lake Geneva in Wisconsin. A close hop away from Chicago, we frequent often and I always manage to squeeze in some antiquing. I came across a tiny milk glass pineapple jar that I now use for sugar. It’s white, matches with anything and adds a bit of fun to our morning coffee.

So you can see how excited I was to find these two…

Since I tend to be color conservative, I thought these were tiny enough to deserve a pop of color. Inspired by this here….

I decided to paint them in Behr’s Sweet Raphsody. You can give pretty much anything a quick facelift with a brush of color. I tend to prefer spray-paint (it’s so much faster); however it is illegal to sell it in the city of Chicago.

Take a look at how they turned out…
