Happy Friday folks! For most of us, this was a short week at work and yet it still seemed to drag. I’ve been busy working on a new “project” and am excited to see it come to fruition. I know that it will require much more of my time and energy, but I’m looking forward to it. While I believe in not jinxing the endeavor, I will share more info with all of you as time progresses!

In the mean time, I might be writing a bit less on the blog, so please forgive me in advance. I still plan on being here, with all of you, 3x a week!

I’ve signed up for the Apartment Therapy January Cure, to keep me on track with organizing and creating a fresh and clean space for the New Year. If you haven’t signed up already, it’s still early and you definitely should. Check it out here. One of today’s task was to purchase flowers for your home. It got me thinking… I’ve been doing this for quite some time and always found it as a small indulgence for myself, but never for my home. It’s amazing how far $20 can stretch when it comes to buying flowers at supermarkets and what an instant difference they can make in your home. And your mood.

I promised myself that I would take a flower arranging class this year and I plan on sticking to it. In the meantime, I have found some great tips for creating a flower grid, selecting flowers at supermarkets and keeping that gorgeous arrangement you slaved over, fresh!

Generally when I buy flowers, I tend to be drawn to larger blooms- think hydrangeas and peonies (the scent of peonies takes me back to my childhood. Sigh). Otherwise, I’ll buy a larger quantity of smaller flowers like tulips in the spring and miniature roses. I always buy flowers in the same color; it makes the look choesive and adds depth to the bouquet. By cutting the stem short, the bouquet looks lush and expensive.

Do you treat yourself to weekly flowers? Any variety you’re particularly fond of? Would love to hear your thoughts on this? Are fresh flowers worth the splurge?
