Lilac Revival

This weekend was a whirlwind which I’m still recovering from…hence my absence! We had gone to New York to celebrate the wedding of a dear friend and ended up spending more time delayed in an airport than in New York. Despite all the commotion, it turned out to be a beautiful {and quick} weekend! I purchased this dress years ago and it just so happens that the last time I wore it, was right around the time I bought it. I remember I had packed it for a trip to Rome and that’s the last of it. Clearly I’ve been neglecting this poor, “old” dress and it was time to take it for another spin.

This dress reminds me of my grandma, in the best and most flattering way possible. The design is mature yet the colors and style is unexpectedly youthful. It hits in all the right spots and is so light and comfortable to wear- I can’t exactly remember why I haven’t worn this in years. Not to mention, it’s the perfect shade of lilac and if I hadn’t been a bridesmaid, this would have been my dress to the wedding. I paired the dress with my croc accessories and a simple, pulled-back do. The chunky heel balances out the delicate floral pattern. This dress just so happens to be from a small French Label, Jus d’Orange. Has anyone heard of them? Determined to hunt down another piece!

Now if Chicago could turn up the heat a bit, I could actually pull out the rest of my spring wardrobe! Thanks for reading and supporting NoMad Luxuries, means the world to me! Xx
